Some people say we were lucky, what do you think?

After returning from the AZAB and in our second race back, in only 12/14 knots of wind we had the misfortune to dis-mast, no one was hurt and we managed to restrict the damage to the rig and sails with the hull untouched. As you can see from the photo’s the cause was a failed cap shroud toggle, which attached to the chain plate.

The insurers were brilliant, quick and efficient, unlike our chosen mast provider who has taken five months to supply the new mast, however it is a fine piece of engineering and we are very pleased with the result.
